MEET YOUR DOULA

My name is Tiffany Marshall (she\her).

Saskatchewan born and raised. I moved to BC when I was 19 ready to take on the world. I started my career in the culinary world and pursued that for 13 years until I felt something missing. Birth work was always something I felt called to and stumbled upon ‘Doula’. I immersed myself into what this word meant and fell in love. It aligned with who I am and my values. As I don’t yet have children of my own I’m proud to be called aunty among family and friends. I love to garden, can, paint, bake, cook and dog walk.

I am a Doula School Canada trained birth\ postpartum doula, fertility Doula and infant and pregnancy loss supporter currently working towards my certification.

The one thing that stuck out for me so much was going back in time and realizing Doula’s have always been around! They were mothers, sisters, friends, aunts, grandmothers and communities. Doulas are support, they are there for YOU. They are your advocates, your comfort, your guide and the one beside you rooting for you.

As a Doula, my priority is for you to feel supported and empowered throughout any stage your at. Everyone’s journey through fertility, birth, postpartum or loss will look very different. Whether you have a big support system helping you or your rocking it solo, I’ll be there to help you and your support people make informed decisions. I’m all-inclusive so however you identify, or whoever your family is, is always welcome!

Being apart of any of this journey with you is special and I will never judge you for any decisions. Whichever path you choose or your taking, I’ll always come with an open ear, a calm presence, a non-judgmental view to support and help you get the knowledge you need.

The story is uniquely yours, I’m there to be a witness.

“Doulas are witnesses to the

transformational power of birth,

holding space for its sacredness.”

My scope

There’s so much information available to us these days that it can feel overwhelming. Part of my job is finding what questions you have, any unknowns and help you navigate through the sea of information. I will guide you so you can make the best informed decisions for you and your family. My role as a doula is to offer emotional, physical and informational support.

I’m not a medical professional, so I will never give you medical advice. I can give you evidence-based information and talk to you about options and their pros and cons. I sometimes don’t have the answer but I will always do my best to find them, give you resources or point you to the right medical professionals that can help.

Doula’s are a support system different from your support people. We know birth, we know fertility, we know babies and we are hear to listen and talk about your losses. We help guide you with professionalism and empathy. We bring knowledge and support. We walk beside you so you can feel empowered in your choices.

Your care providers are there for you. Sometimes, as patients, we need more time to think and talk about our options or have better explanations to fully understand what may be happening . Part of my job is to give you that space so you can make a well-informed decision. Doulas work with care providers but my 1# priority is you and the baby. Making sure you are confident in your choices and feel supported in doing so.
